Leadership Pioneer Valley (LPV), western Massachusetts’ advanced professional development program that provides leadership training and skills, seeks an innovative, creative, and inspirational Executive Director to spearhead the organization’s growth and regional impact. The successful candidate will lead and inspire the team, engage key stakeholders and constituencies, and enhance the impact and sustainability of the organization for the future.

Who you are: The successful candidate will bring energy, warmth, and new ideas to the work of LPV. Reporting to the Board of Directors and managing a team of two, your impact will include:

  • Inspiring and connecting individuals, organizations, and the larger community through development of strategic partnerships that enhance the strength and vitality of the region;
  • Identifying, synthesizing, and growing complex and interrelated funding streams to support new, enhanced, and existing programs, consulting and training;
  • Articulating and broadening the vision of the organization to its current and new supporters;
  • Effectively managing for current and future fiscal and operational growth;
  • Cultivating a strong, transparent, and effective working relationship with the Board of Directors.

What you bring to the role: Your energy, enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience in administration and management in the nonprofit, for-profit, education or related fields, including:

  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices and principles in all aspects of organizational operations and community relations;
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, non-profit management or related field, or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred;
  • Five or more years’ experience or proven track record in a leadership role for a mission-oriented organization;
  • An understanding of the unique assets, challenges, and opportunities present in western Massachusetts;
  • Significant funding development and relationship building experience;
  • Content knowledge of leadership theory and practice;

About Leadership Pioneer Valley

LPV has a demonstrated history of providing leadership development skills, knowledge of western Massachusetts, its people, unique characteristics, strengths and potential. Founded in 2011, LPV helps stimulate and align the collaborative efforts of its 320+ alumni to maximize economic growth, the health, vibrancy, and cultural humility of Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties. The network of alumni includes notable leaders from throughout a variety of sectors and industries in western Massachusetts. These influencers are making a mark as elected officials, non-profit board members, and company leaders.

As LPV enters its 12th season, the organization is presented with tremendous opportunities, coupled with varying degrees of challenges. Ideally, these will be addressed in the strategic planning and visioning process, currently on hold until new leadership is in place. With both a growing Board of Directors and alumni base, LPV is poised to reframe and reexamine its diversity, equity, and inclusion and fund development priorities and position the organization for sustainable growth and regional impact. In parallel, the staffing infrastructure is rich with capacity and poised for collaborative leadership to maximize the staff skill sets.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive benefits an compensation package with a base salary of $85,000, and the opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus.
